Ted Habeck

As I was getting ready to go on the air at the Arch earlier today, I had a conversation with Ted Habeck, the guy on the air preceding me. For those who didn't grow up in St. Louis, Ted worked at KSHE95 from 1973-1979. I realized how many people Ted turned me on to. Jackson Browne, Bruce Springsteen, Robert Palmer, and Boz Scaggs everyone knows; but also Wishbone Ash, Be Bop Deluxe, Climax Blues Band, Rory Gallagher...and that's just the tip of the iceberg. When I lived in Quad Cities, I had relatives that lived in St. Charles and two or three times a year, we would ride or drive back and forth. More than once, I would bring down my Wollensak 8 track recorder and just run tape after tape of KSHE. It's funny, at this ripe age, I don't have many people left in the business that I really look up to. Ted is one and a real good guy too. Thanks, Ted.
